Title: my problems with the DIR-655 have been fixed
Post by: The Cook on December 08, 2010, 06:04:38 PM
QoS works to a degree, and a lot better than it used to.

And the DNS relay function seems to be working as well.

how did I do it?  did I downgrade to an older firmware?  no.  Did I do a factory reset?  well yeah but that was to clear out any settings that may have affected anything.

What I did was load up the russian 1.34WW beta 08 firmware.

Take note D-link America.  The russians did what you couldn't.  Take this as an opportunity to learn how it was done.

How were you able to update? My router is preventing me from using that firmware. I assume there is something in the file header that the router checks that is preventing the update?

yeah there is.  ever since the 1.3x update, Dlink figured they could be cute by putting in a trap that prevents downgrade.

I used this firmware to downgrade:
