Title: DGS-3100-48 VLAN / seperate forum for 3100 series?
Post by: edowning on December 09, 2010, 03:36:04 PM
Hello,

Our core switch is a DGS-3100-48. Where is the appropriate place on this forum to post questions or comments regarding it? Is there one?

I have a department with a switch (that supports VLAN tagging) who's traffic I would like to segregate to just the 3100 and a server. Is VLAN tagging appropriate for this scenario or would I want to consider a different subnet or perhaps even a different or sub AD domain? I would like to know if there is a step-by-step guide to creating a VLAN on the 3100. I am kind of a network newbie so I would appreciate any advice on the topic specifically as it relates to the 3100.

Thanks!
Eric

C'mon DLINK! Wake up! 1 - these switches aren't cheap, 2 - Documentation is confusing!  :-*
