does anyone know o***ood piece of software to scan my DNS-323 and remove duplicate files, I'd like to find a software that uses hash values of files rather than names, extensions, size etc.
thanks

Is this for iTunes content? If so there's some sort of "remove duplicates" feature within iTunes.
If not, I came accross this when doing a quick google search:
http://www.digitalvolcano.co.uk/content/duplicate-cleaner (http://www.digitalvolcano.co.uk/content/duplicate-cleaner)
It's freeware, but I haven't tried it.
I'm not sure how relevent this may be, or how likely it would be to cause you a problem but it has been documented that MD5 hashes are not always unique.

I tried NoClone when it was in version 3
It is / was good but very s.l.o.w, but did good job of finding duplicates.
I tried the updated more recent versions of NoClone that claim they can find duplicate music files. But it cannot.
At least I dont see how a 6.3 meg mp3 file can be the same as a 2.0 meg mp3 file. The tagger does not make that much difference!!
Recently tried duplicate cleaner 1.4.7 by digitalvolcano.
Seems OK
Like all these programmes, be really careful before deleting. There are always disclaimers - ''you dunit, not me guvnor'' . . . I check the actual subdirectories.
