Title: Can't open home page on first try
Post by: Rogerious on December 13, 2010, 03:54:56 PM
I reconfigured my router because my TrendNet Wireless gaming adapter wasn't working, and in the process I found that my wireless network was having some issues.

Anyway my wireless network is up and working like a champ, however when I open up my browser it couldn't find/open my home page.  I tried 3 times before it opened.  My email works fine, my laptop can connect to my wireless network.  But each time I initially open up my browser it takes a couple of times before it connects.

BTW, I haven't tried to setup the TrendNet unit yet - it was a major pain to get it working when I initially got it.  I use it to download video from DirectTV.

Any clues?

Thanks.

I have a couple of those TrendNet units  647A's..... they are easy to set up if you have a spare PC with an open LAN cable....

I made sure and set up a Reserved IP in the 655 for each of them, and then set the 647's up with that IP....

Try clearing your Internet Cache and see if that helps.

Clearing the cache didn't work.  I'm thinking that it may be a configuration issue - a security setting, or encryption...

maybe whatever server your using for a home page was down, or maybe a dns issue, did you try rebooting?

I have had that a couple of times and it was a DNS issue with my domain provider, it always clears itself out.
