Title: DIR-615 rev b and program called SightSpeed
Post by: Edtek on May 18, 2008, 09:01:46 AM
I have been trying to help a customer of mine connect to a program called Sight Speed. It is a video conferencing application.

http://www.sightspeed.com (http://www.sightspeed.com)

Using D-Link routers, we can not connect (She uses a WBR-1310), but when we tried using a LinkSys WRT54G v8.0 router, it worked just fine.

Both of us are using the latest firmware for each router, and I have tried the following:

- Turned on and off the Respond to WAN ping setting.
- Turned on and off the Multicast streaming option.
- Added the computer to the DMZ and still no connection.
- Opened ports 9000-9005 as it states on the Sight Speed faq.
- Set a static ip for each computer, for forwarded the correct ports.

Is there anything else I should try?

She requires the program to talk to her brother who is teaching English as a second language in China, as Skype connections from China are apparently horrible. We know there is no issue with the internet connection itself as connecting with a different brand router works and so does directly connecting to the cable modem.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if this thread is being still being watched but have you tried updating the router's firmware?
