Title: DIR 655 & DWL G700AP
Post by: mugenekk on June 26, 2008, 09:13:01 PM
Hi all,

Another help. My dir655 is located at the ground floor and my dwlg700ap is at the 3rd floor. the dir655 signal is unable/weak when it reaches the 3rd floor since we have a concrete floor. so what i did was to create two SSIDs "dlink1" for the dir655 and "dlink2" for the dwlg700ap. how can i attain just 1 SSID and connect the dwlg700ap through ethernet and act as a repeater.

Thanks in Advance.

Ian

From a factory stand point the DWL G700AP is an access point only, it only has the ability to collect an ethernet network and broadcast it through its own wireless signal. it is not setup to work as a bridge or a repeater and I would recommend the DWL G710 as a repeater source.

actually it can do repeater mode. since there is an option in the wireless. im looking for other options though in order to have 1 ssid. is it feasible to buy another DWL G700AP and use it as a repeater mode on the second floor and then repeater mode on the third floor?

Thanks
