We've pulled the 1.10 code because of issues reported here and in our internal CRM database.
We are working diligently on a correction for those that upgraded and can no longer use MAC filtering or are experiencing other firmware related issues.
We apologize for this inconvenience.

I'm sure you already know about the mac-address problem and it giving everyone the same one of
WAN:
MAC Address : 00:03:64:00:01:23
LAN:
MAC Address : 00:03:64:00:01:24
But I wanted to add something else it broke that you may not be aware of.
The PSP to PS3 remote play feature over the Internet. The PS3 now turns on by itself when the "remote play over internet" is enabled. It was fine with 1.02 and previous firmware with the same config. With 1.10 even turning about every feature off it still happens. It's due to traffic from the router/switch hitting the PS3 and the PS3 thinks it's remote play traffic when it's not. This may be tied to the mac-address problem?

You might want to remove it from the Ftp site also to prevent anyone outside of the loop from accidentally using this firmware.
Hopefully you guys can come up with something new fairly quick.

Someone had mentioned that the new 1.10 firmware had just been released on DSLreports.com. I found out the hard way that the WAN/LAN/Wireless MAC addresses physically changed.
I'm wondering if it's okay for us to RMA our product because of a botched firmware released by you guys. I was pretty disappointed when I couldn't get online properly, and ended up going back to my 4300 in the meantime.
If you do release a firmware, would you be able to restore the MAC addresses to it's prior state?
-
Since you guys basically screwed up the product that we paid you for, I would expect no less than an exact release date for a follow up firmware (maybe 1.11) that fixes the issues the previous (1.10) caused. This shouldn't take over a week, given the severity of the issue.
-
I also want to say I've noticed a lot of reduced performance and signal quality over the wireless for B, G, and N, as well as only B and G modes.
This really needs to get fixed quickly..
-
You can request an RMA, but we're expecting code as early as this week.
My guess is that RMA will take longer then that to just process. It's your call.
As for the MAC address issue, we are confident that we have a firmware fix that will put you back on-line asap.

Hi Lycan,
Thanks for the heads up. I passed that along to the community so that they know as well of the upcoming changes.
I'd also like to add to this topic of the wireless problem with 1.10 FW, and I'm hoping that you can pass it along to the engineers or something.
I've noticed since 1.03 and 1.02 that the Wireless connectivity speed has greatly been varying since installing 1.10. I'm not sure if it's something to do with retransmits or what not. However, my setup has not changed at all, and I can still sit 3 feet away and either have the signal level drop to Poor, and 36 Mbps, or lower. Sometimes it'll shoot back up to 54, since i'm using G. Still using Mixed modes of B, G, and N, with Width of auto 20/40. Once it drops like that, i've noticed ping times increase. If you need anymore information, let me know.

we know guys, the whole thing was a complete failure as far as I'm concerned. I'm really sorry for those that can't use their routers because of this. We will correct this ASAP, I'd have code for you already, but a typhoon in Taiwan kept the coders from creating a fix this week. Couldn't have had worse timing.

Lycan,
Do we have an ETA for a fix?
This FW failure has caused me downtime with my VoIP service and my business phones had to be re-routed..
Please let me know what you thought of an ETA are..
Thanks,

Lycan is taking some time off guys, but we have code.
Head to the BETA code for 4500 child board and you will find the link to download V 1.11 b02
Our apologies for taking this long, but time did not work on our favor.
Please provide feedback on your findings.
Thank you for your patience

I RMA'd mine. Got a refurb with 1.10 on it today. :D Unreal.
Trying to call now. They can send me a call ticket to come pick this one up. The beta does nothing for the PS3 problem that started with 1.10. I guess it's going to be almost impossible to get a 4500 with 1.02 on it now.
-
Have you tried the 1.11 code? I'm getting some pretty positive feed back on it.
-
Lycan,
Any idea when the code will go from beta to full release?
-
Soon hopefully. So far so good. Try out the beta, it will not change in the full release assuming that we approve it.
Has anyone had any complaints?

PS3 Remote Start is still broken. The PS3 turns on automatically now no matter what is done on the router settings. The reason is arp requests. The PS3 looks for an arp request in order to start for remote play over the internet. For some reason with the newer firmwares it's getting arp requests that are starting it before it's supposed to. It worked fine with 1.02.
