The DIR-330 FW 1.12 supports using the firmware update/upgrade tool to load DD-WRT firmware. I just turned the sub $200 router into a 250 mW 802.11g wireless AP.

Interesting, i've tried it with the DIR-625, seems to work okay ;D

Were you able to turn up the wireless output power? Any difference is coverage area?

I can't seem to get this to work.
I am using 1.12
I navigate to the maintenance page.
I check to see if any new firmware is available.
I choose my dd-wrt binary
I hit apply.
I see a very brief window stating something about not turning power off, wait 180 seconds and then I get a page can't be displayed. My firmware doesn't seem to update.
Any guidance on how you got yours to update?

I wouldn't hit "Check for new Firmware" first. However other that meaningless step that is what I do. I would try a different web browser or computer in case it is a browser issue, it's a long shot, but it isn't impossible.

Rename your DD-WRT .BIN file to dir330.bin
