Seems like there those saying they have gotten there DIR-655 and XBOX 360 Wireless N Adpater to work in 802.11n mode. The adapter will only connect in 802.11g mode (and yes I have the correct adapter). I have set the settings to following
802.11 Mode: Mixed 802.11n and 802.11g
Wireless Channel 2.462 ghz - Ch 11
Transmission Rate Best
Channel Width 20/40
WPA-Personal
WPA2 Only
Cipher Type: AES
Does this router really work with XBOX 360 Wirelss N Adapater. If so, how has others got this to work.

Try using Ciper Type Mixed with TPIK and AES. Try with out any Cipher as a test to see if it picks up the router. Does the xbox see the router if you change from Mixed mode to N mode only?

Yup tried all that.
I wonder if I need to update my firmware on router. As I see on xbox site, that is not supported. I currently have 1.21

What is not supported on the xbox site? Suppose if the FW isn't listed on there site, might have to update. Give it a go and let us know. Check out the Gaming and Gamefuel for XBL (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=42011.0) sticky on the FAQ Library (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?board=304.0). Even thought the UI is somewhat different between the routers, the information will work on yours.
Can also upgrade the game console to use something from here:
