Title: DIR-615 very slow compare to ATT Uverse router

I just got my AT&T Uverse up and running.  If I connect directly to the Uverse router, I got 12 to 13 Mbps but if I connect though DIR-615 I only get around 6-8 Mbps.  The D-Link is connected to the Uverse router port directly.  I want the DIR-615 to act like a switch (so I don't have to re-setup everything on my network to point to Uverse router).  The AT&T tech said I should buy a Netgear switch to replace my DIR-615 (I need 8 ports and Uverse router only come with 4 ports). 

Any suggestion as to what's wrong with my DIR-615 setup and why the difference of speed?

Honestly, its better to turn the router off on your ATT device and put it in bridge mode then try doing it on your d-link. But if you must, I think if you turn off the DHCP server, SPI and basically everything, and then connect the ethernet from the att device to a LAN port on the router, then use the other 3 LAN's as ports. But that will only give you 7. I don't know if its possible with different hardware revisions or firmwares, but with Revision C 3.10NA, it doesn't seem to be possible to fully bridge the WAN over to the LAN. You could load dd-wrt though, that would work, that becomes more complex.

You need to disabled UPnP, DHCP, configure static LAN IP and connect it to the other router via a LAN port (not WAN). The referenced material has more details. G'luck.

PS: You said you need 8 ports? Do you have 8 wired devices? Because even in this setup, one port on the AT&T Uverse and one port on the D-LINK will be busy with the connection between them. So you are left with 6 available ports.
