TWC / Road Runner modem
dir-655 - Hardware Version: B1 Firmware Version: 2.00NA
dap-1522
windows xp
xbox 360
powerphone voip adapter
------
Greetings,
Here is my setup:
TWC / RR cable modem to 655
655 port to xp machine
655 port to voip adapter
655 wireless to 1522
1522 port to xbox 360
I am no guru but managed to get all this working about 6 months ago. Other than some TWC outages it has been fine.
Couple days back the XP stopped seeing the net. It could still see the LAN. The voip adapter and 1522 / xbox 360 still work fine.
Here is what I have tried:
Plugged XP in 1522, worked fine.
Plugged XP directly into cable modem, worked fine.
Plugged XP into port the voip is working on, did not work.
Tried other 3 ports on 655, did not work.
Since the XP machine works with the 1522 and cable modem I am assuming the XP machine is not the problem.
Since the voip adapter works on the 655 ports I am assuming the ports are not the problem.
Not sure what to try next.

Hi ,
Do a Factory Reset then restore the settings you were doing. Sometimes over use, settings become corrupt and you need to do a Factory Reset using the Button near the Power Connector in the back of the unit.
Hold button for about 10 to 20 seconds and release.

Thank you, got it working.
Resetting helped, had to do some other steps to get it going.
Going to repeat the steps here for other non-gurus like myself :)
Save your config - tools / system / save configuration (make sure you know where your default save location is because it does not allow you to choose a name or location)
Press and hold the reset button on the back of the 655 for 10 seconds (you should see the lights go out).
655 / browser will say it will take a few minutes.
When done clear your browser cache.
Close browser.
Open browser.
Log into 655 (user name ADMIN, no password, these were reset).
Restore your config - tools / system / restore configuration from file (browse and find the config.bin file you saved earlier)
Wait for the login screen to appear.
Clear your browser cache.
Close browser.
Open browser.
Log into 655 (user name ADMIN, no password, these were reset).
On the status screen, if your WAN settings are blank (IP address, gateway, dns server, etc.) power off / on your cable modem to reset it.
Check the status screen after the modem resets, your WAN settings should appear.
Set your password(s) - tools / admin
Check your internet connections, should be working now, it did for me :)
