It is nice to have the QoS feature in the router but how do we use this (configuration?)
-
Please reference the following FAQ from our support site on how to configure QoS on our DIR series routers.
http://support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?prod_id=2485&question=qos
-
I have already went thorough that FAQ. It does not correspond to the same options that I have on my DIR-615. Here are the options that I have:
Enable QoS Engine : [ √ ]
Automatic Uplink Speed : [ √ ]
Measured Uplink Speed : 724 kbps
Manual Uplink Speed :
Connection Type : [ xDSL Or Other Frame Relay Network Cable ]
Detected xDSL or Other Frame Relay Network : [ Yes ]
I have no place the enter any QoS rules.
Therefore, I ask my original question:
How do I use the QoS engine in DIR-615 FW: 2.25?
-
It's a more limited version of the QoS engine. It allows for enabling and disabling of an Automatic QoS.

Therefore as it stands, what advantage in offering a feature with no other configuration option?
-
Automatic QoS for VOIP and other packet types. I can try to find the layout and priorities if you like.
-
Yes, please tell us which model it uses diffserv or 802.1p and what priorities it accepts for queueing

Lycan can I please see the layout and priorities for my DIR-615?
-
I adds a 75 priority to VOIP and UDP packets.
It's a rudimentary QoS implementation.
Standard packets are QoS'd at 125.
