Title: Is there a plan for a release of updated firmware?

There are several issues detailed on this board that are not solved. Is there any plan for a release of a firmware update?

Two of these issues for me are UPnP and Samba dying randomly.

I would also like to know when we can expect a firmware update with fixes for known problems.

Until the device is deemed end of life there will always be firmware changes on the horizon :). We are working one but the release date has not been decided as of yet.

What is D-Links support policy regarding hardware? How long is it supported for bug fixes etc after it is stopped manufacturing?
