Title: 802.11n only getting 54mbps
Post by: consultant1027 on January 19, 2011, 12:58:10 PM
Anyone know why I would get only 54mbps on an 802.11n connection with laptop sitting right next to the router with 100% signal strength according to the router?  Setting are mixed mode: 802.11n & g, Enable channel scan, Best Transmission Rate, Auto 20/40 width.

Could it be due to WEP security (need to use this for my kids Nintendo DS to connect)

I don't care about getting 300mbps like a lot of other are talking about.  I just want more than 54mbps!

Could be that your LT is picking G over N. Have you tried N only as a test to see if it will connect at the higher mode? Try Mixed G and N with WPA security as a test.

It was due to WEP.  Getting 130mbps now without WEP security.

Setup your guest zone to provide WEP to Nintendo. Regular zone to WPA2+AES  Channel 1-6-11
Turn AUTO CHANNEL "OFF"
