Title: Backup one Drive to Another
Post by: CPS on January 19, 2011, 02:08:05 PM
Hello,

I have a two drive individual format setup going on my DNS-321, but I can't seem to figure out how to get one of the drives to backup onto the other using the DriveClone Pro software. When I launch the software installer, it seems to want to backup my local drive instead of one of the two DNS-321 drives.

1.) How do I set up a backup routine between the two NAS drives using DriveClone Pro?
2.) Can anyone recommend anything easier to run than DriveClone Pro that is an official-paid product?

Thanks in advance!

Ok fine. Can anyone recommend quality NAS backup software? I can't seem to find one that will back up one hard drive to another within the same NAS.

gunrunnerjohn recommended BeyondCompare (www.scootersoftware.com) for both the DNS-321 and DNS-323.  I started using it and it works great.

Use the download scheduler built into the DNS-321. Open the web gui, login to...either Schedule Downloads or Applications (not configuration). From there you can specify to back up one hd to another hd internally and on a schedule along with Incremental Backups. This is the best way to do what you are asking for.
