Title: DSM-750 won't see the DNS-121
Post by: davidwyatt6 on September 22, 2008, 07:31:06 AM
Tried all I can think of but still cannot get Media lounge to see/recognize my DND-121. The last thing I tried was the reg edit for WMP to monitor folders in a network location...no luck
I'm running Windows Vista Premium-DNS-121 and two DSM-750's. I would rather use Win Media Center to run everything bust since it has the FF/Rewind problem on anything but DVR-MS files I elected to run my media through media lounge, but since it cannot see the media  on the DNS-121 I'm stuck.  Everything works as advertised when the media is located on the server hard drive.  My next course of action will be to install my large media drives from the DSN-121 to the server computer.  The DSN-121 then pretty much becomes an expensive paperweight.
The volume in the DSN-121 is called media, when I try to access it from the extender and looks for a folder called “MEDIA_Shared” then tells me what I already know, it doesn’t exist.  I created it etc, but still no luck.

Make sure you have the UPnP AV media server enabled on the DNS-321 and you are looking in My media section on the DSM-750 is should show up as an available media server. Also make sure your DSM-750 is connected to the network and are in the same IP address Range (192.168.x.x) on both devices.
