I have downloaded, but not installed.
What is SecureSpot? Could someone provide some insight before I install?
Thanks.

Hmmm, Google...?
SecureSpot is an extra D-link functionality in routers (anti-virus etc.) which can be used as a subscription service (paid).

I installed the 1.21 beta that was out there yesterday afternoon. The Time stamp of the new beta is 10:59 PM last night so I'll upgrade once again to the 04 build :)
So far running without issues with 1.21 and I see they added USB support in the network configuration section.
Update: Just updated to the latest 1.21 Beta 04. Interesting, the file creation date on this file is 9/11 whereas the 1.21 Beta released yesterday afternoon was created on 9/18 or somewhere around there.
Only difference I noticed is that when I fired up IE on another machine, I got prompted with 2 screens for a 30-day D-Link internet security trial which I chose no thanks to both. I also see they've added DynamicDNS support (can't recall if that was there in 1.20 or not)

Beta_05 is the exact same, but without the dlink internet security.

Now I'm not seeing 1.21 04 or 05 on the FTP site . . .

at 12:30pm EST it is not there anymore 9/23/08. They pull it? Is there any quality checking going on at Dlink anymore? WTF? Test, Package, Release... kinda simple.
And what I mean by packaging is putting up REAL release notes, not just 3 "oooh here is what we did" so Good Neighbor Mode, SecureSpot and all that is explained. I mean geez.. Shouldn't have to google to find out.
And this is 100% CRITICAL, like when the released 1.20 and a week later said.. oh, you can't downgrade. (HINT: This is important information Dlink)

How long are we from a stable version? Seems all I see is beta, plus now is the USB able to function with USB2.0 HDD? Secured Spot feature is a plus.
1. Secured Spot
2. Fast WAN
3. Fast LAN Gig
4. Fast WLAN
Don't like to not play nice with these features...

The 1.20 was downgradeable. I was told that it wouldn't be but the people that informed me were thinking about 1.10 for the 4500.
Now as to testing, you must understand that we could test for forever and never find all the bugs in a specific code. It's just not possible. Some times we get lucky and the code is solid and we can pass it right away, sometimes we think it's good it makes it all the way to the support site and then we find a flaw.
Depending on the severity of the flaw we determine wether it needs to be pulled or not. In this case it did. I was given the go ahead to repost the code as a beta here. Use it, report back to us give us a chance to fix it and make it right.
If you don't think you should have to beta test your right you don't. No one is forcing you to upgrade the firmware on your router. EVER.

I do it for fun :P.
I can't wait 'til the USB port drivers come out. I could then hook my work phone up to it and use that as a backup internet connection incase Comcast goes out. Which I might be doing in the next few weeks. I'm moving and I guess it might take a day or 2 for Comcast to get the service switched over. The 3G option is just too cool of an idea.

Hi,
Installed the No SecureSpot beta 1.21 last nite and so far it seems fine. I was able to reimport the settings I had exported from the 1.11 beta.
LAN printing seems fine for what I have tested.
