Title: Best Settings For Better Connection etc
Post by: jdbeyer16 on October 21, 2008, 02:07:29 PM
What are the best settings for dir-655 to change to, to make Xbox Live have a better connection etc? I got the dir-655 hoping to fix problems with my current problems and lag etc but it still hasn't fixed it. I added a reservation for it and have qish and qos running, turned off spi like someone suggested for COD4 to see if that will and still have nothing.

Make sure your cables are Cat5e and they're put together correctly (did you make it yourself?)

Hi,

You don't mention who your ISP is or what speeds they provide you with, or how many users are online at the same time in your home etc....

Please do....  It might point something out...

Hello jdbeyer16,

Do you experience the same "lag" when you directly connect the xbox to the modem? If you do, the problem may not be router related. If you don't then lets look at a few things. You could swap the cat5 cable for a new one. It doesn't sound like a port issue since it does technically work so disconnect every computer from the router (wired and wireless devices) and do the problems persist?

Best of Luck,

Russell
