Does the MediaLounge software on the DSM-750 have a file size limitation of 2-gigabytes? I have converted a number of videos to mpg and mp4 format and have found all videos over 2 gigabytes seem to freeze near the end of the video, approximately when the video would reach 2 gigs.
I understand .avi files have a 2 gig limit, but mpg and mp4 videos do not. These videos play fine on my PC, and they play fine on the 750 UNTIL they reach about 2 gigs. Videos under 2 gigs play fine on the 750.
Is there a setting on the 750 that I need to adjust or is there an update to allow the MediaLounge to play mpg and mp4 videos larger than 2 gigs? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Unbeleivable! All my files are far above 4 GB, most of SD files are 6-11 Gb let alone HD files that are 11-20 GB.
If 2 GB limit exists who needs DSM-750 at all?
Moderator please clear up this subject both for MediaLounge and Extender modes.

There should be no size limit known. What media server are you using?

Sorry I haven't responded earlier, been out of town.
My videos are all located on a Dlink 323 NAS, firmware version 1.05. I use the DLink media server software that is part of the DNS-323.
I have redone several videos so that they are under the 2 gig limit and now they play just fine on the DSM-750.
Thanks

The issue is the DNS-323 UPnP AV media server. The next firmware update which will be available soon will correct this issue you are having.

I too have notice this problem. It completely froze up (completely black screen that would not respond to anything, I had to restart manually) my 750, even after this new update to 1.02. I am using a Vista Home Premium, with the 1.10 Media Server from D-Link. The file I was trying to play was 2.03 gigs. I am using a DIR-655 with the 1.21 update. As I recall the DSM-520 had the same problem. Anyone have any ideas? I really thought this would be fixed with the new model.
I have 4 DSM-520's and 2 DSM 750's. It was time to upgrade.

Please update your DNS-323 to firmware 1.06 this should resolve the 2GB limit on the UPnP AV media server.

I am not using a DNS-323. I am using a Vista PC with the included Media Server software. Any ideas why I am still dealing with this problem? I am sure everyone is having the same results.

I can not help with your problems.
However I use TVersity on windows XP and have no problem playiong 6 and 7 Gb movies using "Media Lounge" mode.

I am just hoping a Moderator has some answers for this problem. Or at least can let us know that the bugs with the D-Link Media server software that is included with the DSM-750 (which is the same software for the DSM-520) are being looked into and hopefully will have a fix. Thanks for you help.

Have you tied using WMP11 as you media server?
-
Actually, I like D-Link's media server. It's easier to use. I just don't like WMP11. Even my kids can share folders with the D-Link server. Is this a problem that D-Link is looking into? I seem to remember the 520 having the same problem. Is it a limitation of the hardware?

Are you creating these files yourself? If so what program is used to created them and what settings? Also I would recommend trying it with WMP11 to see if you have the same issue.
