Title: UPnP AV server and Kodak Easyshare pictureframe?
Post by: rast on October 27, 2008, 06:54:13 AM
Hi, I have all our family photos stored on my DNS-323 and have now bought an Kodak Easyshare w820 (WiFi) with the aim to view them directly from the DNS-323 via UPnP. But - problem.. The W820 acknowledges the DNS-323 is in the NW, but when trying to view any pictures it just hangs.

-> Anyone seen this problem before and have a solution? Is there any known issues with the DNS-323 UPnP server in relation to this device?

Note: I can "see" the DNS-323 UPnP via my Soundbridge I am using for music playback, and also list the actual photo files. So it seems the UPnP server works together with this device but not the kodak...

I dont know what to say for the Kodak picture frame as it has not been tested but it works very well with the DSM-210 D-Link picture frame in this manner. However one problem I have ran into that may help in your case is try selecting a folder in the UPnP AV media server as opposed to the root and see if that help. If not try selecting just a small folder containing some images only and see if it works.

Did this every work correctly? I have a DNS-323 and would love for the new Kodak W1020 I just ordered to work with it!

I am running into the same issue.  I have a Kodak EX1011 wifi frame and it sees the 323 as a 'Network Computer' but it hangs when you try to select it.  I have tried picking a folder for the AV server that has only a handful of pictures in it and I still get the same results.

Jepp, got it working rather well but not perfectly unfortunately through deactivate sunky DNS-323 UPnP AV server and replace with MediaTomb AV server (incl in fonz fun plug).

Still, there are performance flaws and problems both on server and client side so I am currently using plain old USB mem store concept.. :(
