I have an IP phone plugged in to a DIR 655 and when I plug in the phone it says port access control press # to continue. It doesn't even reach the dhcp stage. It seems the phone is rejected by the router right away. I checked with Mitel and this is not a function of the phone. If I upgrade the firmware to 1.20+ the phone works. However, I have to roll back the firmware to 1.11 because of reliability issues with 1.20+ firmware versions. Does anybody have an idea what "Port Access Control...press # to continue"?
I've tried re-setting to factory default after uploading firmware 1.11 and still get this error. Any ideas?Thank you all.

Hi miketek,
Try upgrading to Firmware Version 1.21. You need at least Firmware Version 1.20 for the USB Port on the Router to function and then you will need to install the Shareport Utility now at version 1.00.
The USB Port does not function on with Firmware Versions of 1.11 or earlier.

Thank you for your reply thecreator. However, the ip phone is not USB, it connects to one of the ports of the router. I have installed 1.21 with and without the sharepoint but had to rollback to 1.11 because of reliability issues.
In addition to the Port Access Control problem, one of my workstations is showing authentication failed in the network icon in the status bar. I wonder if this is related to the Port Access Control?

I am having the same problem with one of my dads phones, with my old router it can just connect no problem but thedir655 isnt liking it now.

The DIR-655 also includes a 4-port 10/100/1000 Gigabit switch that connects Gigabit wired ... wired and wireless Internet traffic to enable enhanced gaming and phone calling (VoIP) experience ... Spam Control; Access Control; Remote Management Console ..... When my old router was plugged in, all problems went away. Call Center Software (http://www.inin.com)
