Title: DIR-655 ROUTER BLOCK WEB SITE ++PROBLEM SOLVED++
Post by: kuster on November 02, 2008, 06:50:26 PM
I have installed a new D-Link DIR-655 V.A3 Firmware 1.21 Setup worked fine(automatic).
Router and System with wired 2 PCs and two Laptops WIFI,  all works just fine. Besides one boring glitch.
For two months now I am wrestling with a somewhat aggravating issue:
If I go to this Website www.nextag.com not responding It just sits there and spins the wheel, tries to open and fails.

http://www.nextag.com

When I plug my PC directly into my Comcast Cable Modem - not using the router at all - and do the very same thing, the page opens right up and all is working perfectly. Test on all my 4 computers the pages open using the modem directly connected to them. (2 computers on VISTA and 2 on XP Pro)

So now I thought I got it and firstly reset the router.
Then upgraded to the latest firmware, without success doing these two things I headed into the router's setup put my computer on DMZ and the same thing happend www.nextag.com do not open.

So far this is the only page I can't open (any computer on the route can't open it wire or wireless) But maybe many more are afected by this issue.

Can someone else try it please?
THANKS...

Hi kuster,

First of all, there is no Firmware 2.21 version. There are Firmware 1.21 Versions both with and without SecureSpot.

Which one did you installed?

Forget http://www.nextag.com for the moment. Can you read your Comcast E-mails on the Web? If not, then you don't have the Router properly registered with the Cable Modem.

PROBLEM SOLVED.

Thank you, after your comment about registration I did some research and re-run the connection wizard and copy the MAC addres like it was the first time the router was in use. (I connect one computer to the modem them that computer to the router and clone the MAC address)
