Title: Help with Jumbo Frames

I just purchased a Buffalo LinkStation Pro NAS drive.  The documentation indicates it will support Jumbo Frames up to 9k.  I'm curious to see if changing the frame size affects the data transfer performance.  Do I need to do anything to the DIR-655 setup to alter the frame size setting or is it detected automatically?  Up to what size frames does the DIR-655 support?  I'm using v1.21 firmware.

(http://support.dlink.com/faq/images/answer3.gif)The Switch processor of the DIR-655 does not support jumbo frames above 4000k.

Furthermore, you will run into issues if you attempt to use more than what the DIR can handle. It will automatically support up to 4000k. There are no settings you have to enable or set for this.

Thanks for the reply.  I saw this on FAQ, but wasn't sure it was it was the latest and greatest info.  There was another FAQ that stated the jumbo frames were not supported.  My current copy using standard frames is 1 MB/sec.  I really think I should be able to make it faster.

Hello Jgranato,

as far as the cap for the frame rate it is 4MBps,  or as posted 4000KBps. and as far as I know its just an auto detect from the routers end, I dont hink there are any modifications you will have to do.
