Title: Guest zone affect Wireless N speed?
Post by: a2vr6 on November 10, 2008, 05:32:36 PM
The Guest zone feature is not very well documented so I was hoping someone can answer this.  Say for exampled I have a Wireless G or even B client.  Can I add it via Guest zone without affecting Wireless N speed?  Do I have to have Wireless B/G/N compatibility enabled first for the main wireless config?

In order to connect to B or G devices you need to have those enabled. Seems logical, doesn't it?
I guess Guest mode also claims some bandwidth and will interfere with N just the same. Otherwise it would need a separate 'radio' for the Guest mode (which the device hasn't).

Thanks for the reply, I was hoping that it would be able to keep the two separate.
