I have a nice Viiv pc serving using the Intel Media Server. The music samples with Vista include some unprotected wma files which are being served. For example Posies - I Guess you're Right. WMA9.1 44K CBR
DSM-510 plays this Ok. Firmware is 1.08 (latest)
I also have a linux based media server running MediaTomb. The same audio file served from here, is visible on the 510 but grayed out and unplayable.
I thought the PC might be transcoding WMA but it appears to be sending the original WMA file. In which case, why cant it play the same file from the MediaTomb.
I also have a 520. This can play the WMA from MediaTomb ok.
Whats going on !!!!
