TIA

You don't have to buy it, just don't check the box that says to enable it.

So there is a cost. I think it should be more clear on the firmware's download page and at least pont to a page that will spell out the cost and what it is. I couldn't find it doing a preliminary search on Dlink's site. Funny that I had to hit Google to get a sense of it.

Thats odd'...If you run this one on the Dlink page (search option) "http://www.dlink.com/search/?qry=securespot&x=0&y=0", and click one of the links you'll get to http://www.dlink.com/securespot-router/. Result under 30 sec.

See that would require me scrolling down to read $60 for 3 PC's!!!! LOL. When I read that a while back I never saw the price. I searched google and found info on secure spot but the part that was never clear to me was that if it would cost more for us since it was a firmware upgrade. I thought maybe for others it was an added bonus of purchasing Dlink's router.

Anyway, thanks for the info. I love the DIR-655 but based on what I 've read it is not necessary for my setup.

Cheers.

Lucid.
