I recently installed a DWA-140 in my Vista 64-bit machine and it connects wirelessly to a DIR-655 router. I have WPA2-PSK enabled. The computer is only about 25 ft away from the router.
Every day I get random drops of the wireless signal and the only way to restore it is to remove the adapter, wait a few seconds and re-insert it which instantly restores the connection. This is pretty annoyting and shouldn't be happening considering the proximity to the router and no interfering walls or wireless devices.
Any thoughts as to what may be causing this?

martajumps,
How's your wireless environment? Do you have any cordless phones running at 2.4ghz? If so try to temporarily disconnect the power from the base and see if that makes a difference. Also ensure you have the latest driver and firmware.

If your using windows I recommend these drivers: http://www.ralinktech.com.tw/data/drivers/IS_AP_STA_RT2870_D-1.3.0.0_VA-2.2.5.0_RU-2.2.0.0_VA-2.2.5.0_AU_2.1.0.0_VA-2.1.0.0_120908_1.0.7.0_Free.exe

is this a driver for Vista 64 or also for 32. And if it's not suitable for Vista32, what driver is?
