As anyone had any issues with using the DNS-321 with a Playstation 3? I cannot get it to work. I keep getting a DLNA Protocol Error 2114.
Has anyone else had this issue? How do I work around it?

Can you elaborate on your setup? How much media are you sharing from your DNS-321. Is it a certain type of media that gives this error? Does it appear when connecting to the server? Are you sharing the entire hard drive or have you specified a certain folder? Have you tried to browse and set a folder with a small amount of media in it and see if you still get this errors?

I updated to firmware 1.01 and I got around this root folder issue by first un-checking root and selecting folder Volume_1, Save Settings, Refresh, then reverting back to checking the root (dlink-xxxxxx_SHARE), SaveSettings, Refresh. Both Volume_1 and Volume_2 now show up on my PS3. Also, 1.01 seems to have removed the auto refresh option shown in the 1.00 manual.
But now the DNS-321 downside. The DNS-321 UPnP AV server does not seem to support all video formats currently supported by the PS3. I have many HD video files in .m2ts format, which stream just fine from my Windows XP WMP 11 box to the PS3. But they cannot be seen on the UPnP AV connection from the the DNS-321. The DNS-321 only shows my converted lower resolution .mpg files. The DNS-321 should claim to support PS3 UPnP AV streaming unless it can handle all PS3 DLNA video formats. I do not consider conversion of HD videos from .m2ts to another format, such as .mpg, to be a reasonable option for most folks.
The DNS-321 Samba UNC file mapping does allow .m2ts files to be played by Windows media applications.

Is there a limit to the amount you can share? Even with 1.01 I can't share to my ps3. It all shows up but gets an error when i select a file. I am trying to share ~50gb of music and pictures. I share my "public" folder, not volume_1. I can't remember the exact error. I will have to look it up again.

Correct .m2ts is currently not supported in the UPnP AV media server.
For those of you having an issue accessing supported files can you please provide your network address 192.168.0.x or 192.168.1.x ect..?

Try changing you configuration to 192.168.1.xx network

Is this a known issue? I don't want to re ip my address just to try it out.

It has been confirmed an issue when using the Xbox360 not with the PS3 yet if you dont mind it may resolve your issue and confirm if the same thing is happening with the PS3. We are working to resolve this issue in the next firmware release.

I am having some of the same issues, just a different flavor. Today I changed from the root folder to assigning a specific folder (still on a 192.168.0.X network address schema), and I no longer get the DLNA 2114 error. However, when I choose to watch an MP4 movie, play icon appears for a moment, the screen goes black like it is caching the movie, and then nothing happens. I have waited 10-minutes and nothing occurs. Not sure if this is more network problem than anything. Both the DNS 321 and the PS3 have a static IP.

Also experiencing the same issue Error 2114 on my new PS3. Didn't change anything on the DNS-321 UPnP AV server config page. UPnP is enabled and Root folder is checked. I am using 192.168.1.xx network, all wired to gigabit switch.

Please make sure you have the latest updates on your PS3.

I'm running the DNS-321 with my PS3 and am not having any problems.
I have assigned it a static IP address though.

I am also receiving the 2114 error. In fact, my PS3 has crashed and reboots when initially trying to search for media centers. After the reboot I see the 2114 error. When I select enable UPnP on the DNS-321 I immediately get the 2114 error on the PS3.
Since some 321 users have success, perhaps it succeeds on some PS3 models and not on my model. My model is a year old and has a 40G drive. Perhaps the model with the 80G drive works? Just a thought.
PS3 firmware is current (2.60)
DNS-321 firmware - 1.01
DNS-321 IP address static 192.168.1.200
DNS-321 connection type - 100mps
Router - ATT UVerse universal 3800HGV-B Gateway
PS3 IP address - Dynamic 192.168.1.71 (I have not seen how you can configure a static IP address on the PS3.)
PS3 connection type - 802.11g
Hard drive - Seagate ST31500341AS 9VS106P6 1500 G
Other notes
When I do a PS3 check network configuration I get a 'not available' on UPnP which doesn't make sense my PS3 recognizes other UPnP servers such as WMP V11 and MediaDoom.
I can't think of any other pertinent information.
UPDATE
Well don't you know it. After 1 week of failures it is now working! The only thing I am aware that I changed is I added a user from Advanced->Users/Groups and tested FTPing from the new user name. I hardly think this had anything to do with it but you never know.

It's working on mine, but where I thought I had a problem, was just something that took time.
My Setup:
DNS-321 fw1.01
DHCP based IP in 192.168.1.x range
RAID 1 with 640GB
I unchecked "root" and set it to use \Media
I put my files in Video, Pictures, Music directories respectively (with lots of sub-folders)
PS3 fw2.60, static IP
Initially, when I did it, only music files came up (the first thing I set up), now several hours later, all my movies and photos show up as well.
One annoying quirk, on the PS3, when I tell it to browse by folder, it starts with the Media folder, rather than Music, Pictures, Video. I expect that since the share point is Media, that the PS3 should start with the contents of Media, not by making me select the Media folder
Anyway, the core point is, if you PS3 connects to your DNS321, but shows no files, it may be that the DNS321 is still processing the files. Just like Windows Media Server does. It takes time.
Now to see if my 360 is happy with the DNS...

My DNS-321 AV server takes a few days to properly display the correct file size of large video files on my PS3...

My 321 has been working with my ps3 for about a month now. Occasionally it comes across a video or movie it cant play, but generally have had no issues. Today i noticed that i was missing 2 seasons of top gear (i have 1 to 10, but 7 & 8 werent showing up on the ps3). I did a manual refresh under the tools upnp server section it got to 62% and then stopped. I went back to the ps3 and those 2 missing folders now showed up. But when i try to go into a folder that has files in it I now get a DLNA Protocol Error 2110 and then 2101 right afterwards (within about a second of eachother) on the ps3. I restarted the 321 from the web config, went back into status and now it said that i have 0 drives, WTF lol!! Restarted the 321 again, and at least i have a drive, but am still getting the 2110 and 2101 errors on the ps3.
321 is firmware 1.01 with 1 x 1.5 tb seagate hd
ps3 is 2.60 firmware
I have dhcp enabled for both the ps3 and 321
ps3 ip : 192.168.0.103
321 ip : 192.168.0.100
router ip : 192.168.0.1
my router is a dlink WBR-1310, firware 4.00, upnp enabled on the router
I must have done something for it to stop working but idk. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

I upgraded my router to 4.13, same issue. Just noticed the light for the hd on the 321 is flashing, not sure what is going on.

sry for so many quick posts. I now tried sharing a folder called media rather than the root, now files show up under video-all videos but do not play( a movie i watched last week, now comes up with the error data corrupt on the ps3). under folder - media it says no files. So i can go through a list of hundreds of files and see them but they dont play, or i can browse by folder and see nothing. Im really at a loss at what i did or what to do. Should i just reset the thing to factory and start all over again with static ip's? Eagerly awaiting a response. :)

set up static ips in the 192.168.1.xx range, now am getting 2114 error on the ps3.

Does anyone know why the files are so nested on the PS3 and how I can get around that? I have to flip through several folders to get to files even though I have the UPnP pointing to a specific folder. What the heck! :)
