I've put a ticket in with D-Link support, but in the meantime was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem.
On startup of a new D-Link DNS 343 it perpetually sits as "System is booting...." the dots count along but nothing else happens. It doesn't show up on the Config app. I've tried a reset and a number of different drives in different bays, no joy. Am I being silly and missing something or is it hosed?
Thanks in advance..
Dan
Edit: Interesting forum rules! Apparently s-t-u-p-i-d is disallowed (changed to silly in the post) as an 'exploitive'? (I assume that means expletive!)

I have the same problem with the oled display, it worked for a while, but now it only says "System is Booting..." I haven't contacted support yet... the web interface works and the file system is fine, just no joy with the OLED...
Did you get your setup resolved?
-
It will stay on this forever? So the OLED is useless at this point right? What firmware are you running is it th beta?
-
Yes... booting forever according to the OLED.. I am not using the beta, I am using 1.02.
I tried a "factory reset", "System Restart" "System Shutdown"... I pulled the plug for a cold start... Tried a cold start with all 4 hard drives removed... I can't think of what else to try.
-
Reflashing the firmware may resolve this.
-
So the OLED shows the "Booting" message but you can access the devices WEb GUI just fine and the device is operating? Is that correct?
-
That is correct...
-
Yeay!! Reflashing firmware (fresh download of same version) solved the problem.
Thanks!
Now if we could just get those .m4a files served by the upnp server ;)
-
Good to hear!! ;D
-
Uh oh... Almost two months later, this problem has re-appeared... This time reflashing the firmware did not change anything... Any more ideas?
-
You are the only person to every report this issue it seems you may just have a defective unit. I would recommend contacting technical support for an RMA.
Did you try downgrading the firmware as well and see if the issue persists?
-
You are the only person to every report this issue <snip>
Actually no I have/had this issue as well. it happens relatively randomly and did the same corrective actions as the OP.
Reflashing the FW AND soft resetting to factory defaults fixed the issue but it still happens from time to time. I as well submitted a ticket with tech support and they mentioned a possible recall but since I got it up and running again it seems fine. Excepting that I can't get UPnP to work.
-
Okay, FW down and back to the same with soft reboot, then reset to factory defaults did the trick, but only for a couple of days, now it is back to "System is booting..." is there an advance exchange or do I have to send this one back before a new one is shipped?
-
I have the same issue (but, if unplug the power cord and turn it on again, it work).
My firmware is 1.03b60 with 4 1TB Samsung HD103UJ in JBOD.
If i try to reflash the firmware (with the same release or try to downgrade) do i loose the data on my nas?.
Thanks in advance for your reply :)
