Title: ps3 dgl-4500
Post by: kripticc on December 06, 2008, 05:25:02 AM
hi Iam new to this forum and this is my first post/topic.  I was wondering how many people are having issues with the DGL-4500 and PS3's.  I am having lag issues with my online gaming.  i get frequent log out's and am experiencing lag most of the time.  i know it's the router because when i just use the modem and an ethernet cable i have no issues at all.  I pretty much tryed every solution out there and no luck.  I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same issues and have had success finding the answers.

P.S I am beginning to think it's just the technology and it need's to get better.

Also are you connecting to the PS3 wired or wireless?

What version of the 4500 do you have.

I'm having the same issue. I can't seem to get the Gamefuel to work either. I've been doin the run around on websites, the manual, nothing seems to work. I keep getting this error:

"Remote IP start "PS3 IP" is in the LAN subnet"

In quotes is actually my PS3's internal IP I set on the network. I hardwired it in now so connection issues should be minimal (if not gone) but the Gamefuel thing... any takers?

"Remote IP start "PS3 IP" is in the LAN subnet"
This means that a Gamefuel rule is wrong (probably only backward).  The first set of IPs in a rule should be in your LAN.  The second set should refer to the distant IPs in the set.  Source IP is local, Destination IP is remote/distant.

Personally, I don't make any rules and I let auto-classification work it out.  It does a good job (you can see using the Status - Internet Sessions screen in the DGL-4500).  Auto-classification gives large-regular upload packets a slower priority and gives shorter, irregular packets a faster priority.

If you see something in that screen that is getting a bad priority, then you can use that information to guide the rule entry you'll make.  This need is pretty rare -- it's often when trying to transmit real-time video.

remote ip can be set to "0.0.0.0-255.255.255.255" and remote port"1-65535"

can try those and see if it helps. but as you can see from past posts...many have problems with the dgl-4500 and gaming with the ps3.
