Title: HD Spin down issue with firmware v1.01
Post by: bman on December 10, 2008, 12:22:22 PM
Having issues with the HDD power management with firmware v1.01.  The disks would spin down just fine with firmware v1.00 (WD 750GB in RAID 1).  I have reset the unit and double checked the settings.  Anyone else having issues?

Please try disabling the UPnP AV media server and see if you still have this issue.

I have turned UPnP off; I 95% sure the HDD have NOT spun down.  To add insult, the fan is STILL on @ 39degC system temp.  The main reason i updated to v1.01 firmware was for the advanced fan control.

Please help!

My drives are still on.  I'll keep my eye (ears) on it... thanks for bringing this up!

Ok, I realize the noise my dns-321 was making is not the drives, but the enclosure fan.  When I logged into the dns-321, the drives spun up.  The temperature reading of my drives are "93 F/ 34 C".  Looks like I'm not having issues with spindown.
