Title: Connecting to wired switch/hub - crossover or patch cable? CAT 5e, 6 or 6a?
Post by: WirelessMan on December 12, 2008, 06:22:19 AM
I would like to connect my DIR-615 (version B) to a 4-port switch/hub using a cable.  Do I need (i) a patch cable or (ii) a crossover cable to connect the DIR-615 to the switch/hub?  Also, the cable will be 100 feet going through walls.  Will CAT 5e work, or should I step up to CAT 6 or even CAT 6a? Thanks.

No need to use cross over ethernet cable. Just use the regular ethernet (straight thru) cable, it already has auto sensing.
