Title: connection problems

Alright i have the DIR-625 rev. A router. Of that i am using an xbox 360 (wired), desktop (wired), another desktop with a DWA-552 card, another desktop with a WUSB600N, and a laptop (wireless, but not sure about the card, its not mine so i dont really care) «these arnt all mine im just listing all the things that run off it». The wired connections (eg. desktop and xbox360) work good but all of the wireless connections keep disconnecting and disappearing, its ridiculous. I know my wireless adapter is vista compatable (WUSB600N) but im not sure if the router is. On all the PCs i have vista and all of them have descent specs (i can list if requested). Its really making me mad because i cannot play and computer games online. Any help?

Since this is happening to all of the wireless devices, are there any other 2.4 GHz devices in the home (cordless phones, wireless speakers, baby monitors, security cameras, etc., etc.?)

We do have wireless phones but thats about it, and im pretty sure they are 2.4 GHz.

The standard 2.4Ghz phones do cause interference for most routers.  Also, several 5Ghz phones cause interference also.  The newer DECT 6 phones are supposed to be "wi-fi friendly."

Disconnect the power from the phones and see if the issue continues.

Nope, disconnecting the phones didnt change anything. So here is the deal, using speedtest.net to test the download and upload speed, for my wired computer download is 4800kb/s and upload 500 hb/s, not bad but not great. For my wireless computer Download: 132Kb/s Upload: 63Kb/s. There is no possible explination as to why i am loosing so much internet while i am about 30-50 feet from my router.

Start at factory defaults. 

Set your router to use channel 1 and do the test, write down the results.  Repeat 2x or 3x just to make sure that you're getting consistent results. 

Now set your router to use channel 11 and do the test, write down the results.  Repeat 2x or 3x.  Any appreciable difference between the two tests?

alrighty i went to the router settings, made it invisible, put a password on it and refreshed it. now i am working great and back up to 4800kb/s download. and so far no lagg outs. im not sure if we had a hacker or if it just needed to be refreshed. i must not have been doing it right but im just happy it works now. but thank you all for your time! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
