Title: Firmware 3.06 from 3.04 blocks streaming audio DIR-625 C2
Post by: stevebabz on December 17, 2008, 07:27:23 PM
I have a DIR-625 C2 that came w/ firmware 3.04.  I upgraded to firmware 3.06.  All streaming audio fails to load after this on both wired and wireless PCs.  Rolling back to 3.04 corrects this problem.

I have a Vista laptop that I want to connect wirelessly to a XP Home desktop that is wired to the router.  I can connect via the IP address on the Vista but Vista doesn't recognize the desktop's host name even though they are both in the same workgroup.  Firmware 3.06 is supposed to correct a LLTD issue.  A second laptop running XP Pro can recognize the desktop by its host name.

I need to connect to the host desktop computer to print remotely as the printer is connected to the desktop.

I don't want to loose access to streaming audio with 3.06 FW.

Is the inability for a Vista Machine to see a XP desktops host name a firmware issue?

Suggestions?

Upgrade to 3.07.

I was having the same issue but with a Blackberry Bold and 3.06.

WiFi streaming audio & video works fine with 3.07
