I recently bought DWA-556 to use with my DIR-655 router (was using 802.11G USB adaptor before) and I have been very disappointed with it. I tried copying files from my main computer (which is connected directly to the router) and I my download speed did not went higher than 1mb. I installed the latest drivers from Windows Update but still I no luck. Following is my router configuration. Please advise.

ajamils,
Uninstall the driver completely and update the adapter with he D-Link driver from our support site.

You can choose to update the driver and not use the D-Link utility.

I followed the instructions and reinstalled the card with the drivers from above link and now the speeds are even worse. The best speed I get while copying files over network is around 900kbps and usually it stays around 200 - 300kbps. >:(
I think I'm gonna give it couple more days and if it doesn't work I'll just return it and use my old 802.11G USB adapter.
