Hi, I'm having trouble connecting my DVR to the router...similar to the problem I had with my computers. Computer 1 connected to the network and internet with no issues, computers 2 and 3 reported that they were connected, but I could not browse the internet. After hours of tech support the phone support person had me manually assign DNS numbers 4.2.2.2 and 4.2.2.3...magically, computers 2 and 3 could connect. I don't understand why, but am happy that they work. Now I am having a similar problem with my DVR. It detects the network just fine and says it's connected to the network, but will not connect to the internet. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it. Thank you. Once I get this down I need to tackle the PS3 and Nintendo DS connections.

Did you enter a DNS in the DVR? How does the PVR report the connection? Do you use MAC access security in the modem or any other kind of WPA, WEP or whatever that needs configuring on the PVR?

I'm not sure what to enter for DNS, it just worked using autodetect on my old Linksys router, for this one each device after the first has been a little challenging. I'm not sure why I had to enter DNS for computers 2 and 3 or what the significance of entering 4.2.2.2 and 4.2.2.3 for them is. Computer one has "assign automatically" checked and works fine. And as far as I can tell, the DVR connects just fine to the router just like computers 1 and 2 did, it just can't get through to the outside...any suggestions on what I'd enter? IF you need additional information on my system I'd be happy to provide it. Thanks for responding. I have heard many great things about this router but am a little frustrated with it right now. It also keeps disconnecting and reconnecting from the internet, but I'm trying to fix one problem at a time.

You might want to experiment with these settings (http://192.168.0.1/Basic/Network.shtml):
- DNS relay on/off
- Always Broadcast can be marked 'on'. It fixed my connection to my KiSS DP600

Thank you, I'll try that when I return home this evening. I hope it connects. I wish I knew more about what I was doing.

Just run into a lot of these issues and you will. ;)

No dice. Both the DVR and the PS3 are saying "DNS Error" Any suggestions before I give up and take this back tomorrow? I believe the problem is the setup, not the router itself, but if I'm not smart enough to get it configured it's going to have to go back.

I don't know the DVR, so can't help you with that....

When you run IPCONFIG/all on the PC what is the DNS addresses that are supplied?

Thanks everyone for trying, I'm returning this and getting something a little easier to configure.
