Title: DIR-655 driving a DSM510 , DSM520 and a DSM750
Post by: eman on December 30, 2008, 08:30:10 PM
Over the last few years, I have acquired D-Link's total package for media distribution. NOW.. How do I make them play nice? I want to drive the 750 to the max while keeping the 510 and the the 520 happy. If I configure the 655 to drive the 750 towards N's speed I lose the 510. Reconfiguring the 510's network settings does no good. It cannot connect on reboot. The firmware is current on all 4 devices. The 655 (configured as below) shows the 750 running @ 130 Mbps and the 520 @ 54. I tried dynamic & static IP's with no difference.

DIR655 Wireless Config:
802.11 Mode  - Mixed 802.11n and 802.11g
Transmission Rate - Best (Auto)
Channel Width - Auto 20/40 Mhz (Auto)
Security Mode - WPA-Personal
WPA Mode - Auto (WPA or WPA2)
Cipher Type - TKIP and AES

They all play nice when the Channel Width is 20 Mhz and the 802.11 Mode is mixed B/G/N but the 750 is then driven at 54 Mbps.

Thanks.. cj

Rebooted the system and reconfigured the DSM Media Lounges and all is well. The 750 is being driven at 240 and the 520 and 510 at 54 and 26 respectively. TVersity is giving me problems on the 510 but this is my problem. The 655 settings are golden.
