Title: Restoring my wireless home network with the 615 A
Post by: husker80 on January 04, 2009, 12:28:05 PM
The problem started with my son trying to hook up the new Wii to the Internet (that failed); it ended up in shutting down the whole home network that I had set up on my DIR 615 A.

I succeeded in getting the Internet back up, but NOT getting the wireless network set up. I reset my router, but that didn't work. I've tried setting it up with the flash drive and that's also failed. I can't find the CD that came with the 615 (of course) so can't set it up that way either.

D-Link no longer supports it out of the 90-day warranty and I'm not about to pay $33 when maybe some brilliant mind on the forum can help me out! Please?

There is nothing required on the CD to set up the wireless network.  You need to access the wireless configuration section within the D-Link web configuration pages, built in the unit.

Usually, you access these pages by access the router via the IP address (ex: http://192.168.0.1) and logon with the "admin" user and its password.

BTW:  You can find the user guide fon D-Link's support web site.
