Title: Strange temperature display (1.02 issue?)
Post by: mk1184 on January 04, 2009, 02:41:42 PM
Noticed that my temperature display frequently reads "tem°F/45°C" (Celsius figure varies).  Have also caught it at times sans the Fahrenheit or Celsius figure (e.g., "°F/45°C" or "113°F/°C").  Usually returns to normal within a refresh or two of the OLED and seems to occur more frequently when there is other activity on the unit.  I didn't run 1.01 long enough to know if this behavior is germane to 1.02.

I have not see this display however I will keep an eye out for it thank you for bringing this to attention if it is an issue. This is in the OLED only?

Correct, I have only ever observed it on the OLED and while there is other activity on the unit, specifically during boot-up and while writing to the array.

I just thought I'd add that this issue occurs on my unit also.

It isn't something that I'm bothered by or worried about, but the fact remains that it does occur. I don't remember if this happened on 1.01, but the fact that I can't remember it happening suggests that it probably didn't (since I do look at my OLED from time to time... frequently irritated by the screensaver - but that is another issue altogether).

I don't have any information as to what events occur prior to causing this, or what actually causes it, so nothing useful there. I can say that within a couple of refreshes of the OLED, the reporting returns to normal.

I haven't noticed any other statistics displaying variable code or randomly blank data. At this stage I would suggest that it is isolated to the temperature information.

Seems to be some quirkiness in the temperature monitoring of this unit and/or firmware revision.  At times I've witnessed it reporting a 10 degree (F) swing within a few seconds (um, not likely!).  Also, as noted in the "Random Lockups" thread, I experience occasional lock-ups when the unit hits 49 C, just as the fan kicks to high-speed.

not temp related, but oled related.  the ip address is showing the default of 192.168.0.32 meanwhile, the unit is actually running beautifully at ip address 206.56.167.192, everything else is running perfectly, no other display errors. device web page "status" is perfect.  forgot to mention that a shut down and restart will correct until the next time it happens.
