Title: MagicJack in USB Port ??
Post by: Sammydad1 on January 05, 2009, 10:13:01 PM
Hi,

Has anybody tried using one of those "MagicJack" gizmos in the USB on the DIR-655 ?  If so, did it function as you expected ?

I was wondering if the USB (SharePort) can be configured for full internet access such that the MagicJack (this may be a USA only question sorry) might function off the USB port....  Just wondering.

Hi SD1,

I tried it and it doesn't seem to work. It does get detected but constant lose of the Internet and so I didn't keep trying.

Has anyone gotten the magicJack to work in the dir-655 router? I've tried for about 3 hours with no luck.

I am very much a newbie:
Is a static IP required?
Port Fowarding required?
QoS need to be setup on the DIR-655 router?
Any special settings with the router side?

Help!!!
