Title: Upnp on Dap 1522 possible?
Post by: dyvurcz on January 06, 2009, 11:47:10 AM
Hello, I have a Dgl 4500 router in my basement level of the house.  I ran a ethernet cable up to the main level to connect a Dap 1522 just to ensure the other two levels get adequate signal as well.  The problem i'm having is with a ps3.  For some reason everything on the uppper levels can connect to the Dap but the ps3.  For some reason theres is no upnp for the Dap.  The ps3 connects to the Dgl no problem it just has a really weak signal.  Any ideas on how to enable upnp on Dap?  or is it even possible?  Any help would be appreciated.

Is the dap-1522 on 5GHz?

I'm not sure.  Does it have to be to work with ps3?

PS3 will not connect to that band. When you scan the area for networks does the PS3 see the dap-1522?
Do you have the dap-1522 set to auto on the back? Is the dap-1522 in ap or bridge mode when you log into it?

the ps3 will see it no prob it just fails the connection test when it trys to obtain the ip address.  I'm pretty sure it's set to auto on the back.

Are you using the correct security key?

yeah absolutely the correct key.  I've got a number of devices hooked to it with the same key.  I have no idea why it's not working and no one has been able to figure it out yet  :'(

Try to connect with all the security off.

Might have to do with the type of security mode you're using. I know I ask before, but make sure the key being used is correct...go slow if you have to when typing it in just to be sure.

yeah I tried the key over and over again to make certain.  I'm using wpa personal on the dap and the dgl.  It connects to the dgl no prob with the same security to i'm a bit confused

the PS3 may suffer from the same limitations as the AT&T Uverse TV set top boxes. We had a problem with the settop box and the 1522, cause the 1522 will Mask the DHCP servers MAC address on the LAN with it's own. Almost acting as a proxy for the LAN side DHCP. AT&T had issues with this, as the box's would fail to pull DHCP.

I'l have to test it.

Actually we just tested it, and it worked wonderfully. So the problem is with your router or the setup.

I take it since you mentioned 100% signal you're trying to connect wireless.. Do you suffer the same issue connecting hard wired?
