I have DNS-323 configured with 2 drives in RAID-1. Unit runs firmware 1.06.
Yesterday one of the drives went bad, so I grabed another one to replace it. When I inserted new drive in DNS-323, the unit prompted me to reformat newly inserted drive. So far so good.
During reformat power went out and unit shut off. I was assuming I can turn DNS-323 back on and reformat new drive again, but now even the first drive doesn't show. It "kind of" shows and I can see 'lp', 'web_page' and 'Printers and Faxes" shares, but not the main "Volume_1". I tried connecting drive to my Linux box, but main "Volume_1" share can't be mounted there either, although it still shows as data being there.
What would be the best way to get "Volume_1" data back and possible fix this RAID array issue on the drive?
Thanks much in advance.

Sadly I can't help you, but if I may add a comment, this is one of the many reasons to always have a UPS device on those NAS...

Apparently, there's a utility (ext2ifs ?) that may allow you to access the contents of the partition from a Windows machine. Also look at Paragon as it may be able to repair the partition bits.
HTH,
