Title: Remote Desktop from WAN thru DIR-615

I needed to access my home PC via the Remote Desktop today and it does not seems to work thru my DIR-615 B1 fw:2.25.  This has been working correctly before and I do not know why it is not working.  Remote Desktop appears to be correct between my LAN workstations.  I believe the router might be causing the problem but I am not sure.   What can I do to check this, remotely?


Also, I am not sure if the ISP "might" be blocking the Remote Desktop protocol???

Did you forward the ports of setup a virtual server rule? Also how about firewalls and anti-virus softwares?

Yes.  Port forwarding was used and I have tried the Virtual Server settings.  I am not sure but I do not get an error.  The Remote Desktop "initiating" request "client" just bounces back to the dialogue where you enter the Computer name and user name.

So when you try to RDP you get to the login prompt and the remote client fails to connect after entering the username and password? Are the usernames valid on the remote client? Are you logging in as an admin?

I would like to apologize on this post.  It never occurred to me but I have found details that one of my drivers (nVidia video card drivers 180.48) could be the cause of my problem.  I will have to get confirmation from the nVidia "wizards."

Addendum:

I have updated to a newer version of these drivers and all is working.  I guess one should check every possible "interference" that can be caused by software, including drivers.
