I have disabled all antivirus and firewall services on my PC and I can't get Shareport icon to turn green and recognize my DIR-655 (Hardware Version A4, 1.21 firmware). I've uninstalled the Shareport software twice. I use AVAST (but all services are disabled).
The router setting is set to "USB Network" with a 30 second time out. I'm running WinXP SP3, 802.11G only.
Thanks in advance,

When you right click the icon, does it show you the router IP at the top of the popup?

Unfortunately no. I've rebooted my pc a few times too. each time disabling antivirus and firewall. I've tried wired and wireless and still can't get my IP to show up (like I see in the help screenshots). I've killed off every process in task manager that isn't a needed Windows process, no luck. I've disabled all non-active wired/wireless connections, no luck.
Here are some system details:
AMD Turion 64 Mobile ML-32
1.79GHZ 2gig Ram
XP Media Center SP3
I have no other usb devices connected and it's a very clean system.
I restored the router to it's original settings as well.
I've tried using 10.0.0.1 and 192.168.0.1 IP ranges with DHCP set to x.x.x.10-15

What version of the utility did you install?
-
Don't just disable the firewall, in most cases this means it will block all traffic.
This is a security feature for the case a trojan or virus tries to disable the firewall.
There is either a programm option to let all traffic pass or you may uninstall it for a test.

I am using version 1.0 of the utility. Are there other versions? If so can you send me the download links?
I also tried the firewall suggestions too. No luck.
Any other suggestions?

No other functions. There is something blocking your communcations from Shareport to the router. My bet would be the antivirus/firewall.

At this point it doesn't seem like it matters if you have 1.20 or 21. I don't know anyone who's gotten this feature to work on this router. I'll pay anyone who can get mine to work ;D

And your first offer would be...? :)

Is there a list of known software that initially blocks Shareport, or a list of USB devices that might not be compatible with Shareport? I've uninstalled Avast (anti virus. no luck) and made sure my windows firewall settings are set up right.
Here are the USB drivers that I have loaded for other devices:
Motorolla V3XX
Harmony 550 Remote
HP 1018 Laserjet
Dell keyboard
Logitech mouse
Burr Brown USB Audio
I've looked in Device Manager and didn't see any unknown devices or any conflicts.

Hi everyone,
Has anyone tried USB Audio with any success?
I have a creative sound blaster X-fi 5.1 usb sound card and it does not show up in the list of devices to connect to. Is there any update or remedy?
I am actually on DIR-825 and the last firmware (2.05NA i believe).
My other devices connect quiet normally, except that the hard disk transfer rates are not that great (~4MBps).
Thanks,

Not sure if this router would support a streaming of audio data over the LAN in this fashion. I presume that the USB audio needs a dedicated USB connection on a PC to use it. The USB port is meant for data connectivity between HDs and printers and devices that are supported by the router.
