Title: firewall auto resets due to 'Exception' 'UndefInstr' or 'DataAbort'
Post by: interges on February 10, 2011, 02:01:15 AM
DFL-800 fw 2.12.00

A few weeks ago the firerwall is reseting/restarting itself and logging rare errors like these:

rev=1 corever=2.12.00.44-1874 build="Apr 27 2007" uptime=0 cfgfile="core.cfg" cfgver=58 previous_shutdown="2011-02-10 09:17:37: Exception 'UndefInstr' occurred at address 0x71286

Or

rev=1 corever=2.12.00.44-1874 build="Apr 27 2007" uptime=0 cfgfile="core.cfg" cfgver=58 previous_shutdown="2011-02-10 08:32:45: Exception 'DataAbort' occurred at address 0x

I don't know what's going on

In the maintenance, download the support file and see what's in there.

which model of firewall you have?

which version of firmware are you using??

get a pc to connect on serial port to capture logs and registers of rebooting event

configure a syslog to capture logs of the firewall.

With this information and config and tech support file you can open a ticket with your local representative.
