Title: dir-655 ver 2.0 ramdom connextion with a wireless 150N mini adapter
Post by: nobodyhome on February 16, 2011, 07:08:45 AM
Everytime I try to connect my second pc, the connextion is ramdom. The second pc had xp with sp3 I use a Intellinet wireless 150N mini adapter. Everything was working fine before, I had to change my router, so I change it for a Xtreme N Gigabyte router dir-655 ver. 2.0.

I had try many time with different configuration but my connextion is still ramdom.

Any idea.

What wireless modes are you using on the 655?
Try using Single mode G or N then Mixed G and N?
What security are you using? Use not security for a test and see how the  connection goes. Then turn on security and use WPA or WPA2.

Any cordless house phones in the area?
How far away is the PC from the router?

Ensure your drivers are updated for the 150N adaptor?

Lets try single mode G then N and see what happens. B band isn't used much any more and not need to broadcast that mode unless you really need it. A and B is mostly to support older WiFi devices. I would turn off WiFi Protected Setup if you don't have any devices that use that. Things like wireless printers.

Use no security for a test and see how the connection goes. Then turn on security and use WPA or WPA2.
