I have a dgl 4500 and a DCM 202 modem both from dlink.... I had updated the router and it did so successfully but now my settings were messed up EVERYTHING. I have a gateway laptop an HP laptop 3 xbox 360 1 Playstation 3 2 nintendo wiis a panasonic viera 3d tv along with the panasonic3d blu ray player all which was hooked up on my network and working fine....
I thought that if i upgraded my firmware it might make my network faster cat 6 cables dlink giga switch yeah the works.... now i cant hook the tv or the blu ray player up nor the wiis and the xbox and the ps3 are LAGGY at best.....
I opened the ports (followed diagram on forums) but something is definitely wrong. I thought i had all this figured out but i am back to knowing absolutely zilch about this could someone give me some dummie proof info on how to get my network to a maximized setting and speed.
I feel like i shod not have updated the firmware but its too late whats done is done.

To directly answer your question; No. I can no provide dummy proof information for such a possibly complex issue.
First lets start with your network. You mentioned all those items you have, but how are they connected? Whats wired? Whats wireless? How does the switch factor in? Try to write us out a network diagram.
Second, what are the symptoms? Which devices won't connect? Wired or wireless? What do they say when you try to connect them? You say your game systems are laggy. Do you mean latency, as in multiplayer latency? Or throughput?
Third, what have you tried already? Do symptoms for a device go away when you go from wireless to wired? When one device acts up, do the others as well? Have you checked the router logs and see what they say?

Hard Harry hits it out of the park :) Seriously though you need to give us more information so we can better assist you. Have a great day.
