Title: d link router has done nothing but give me grief.
Post by: warheart on March 06, 2011, 07:36:18 PM
I've bought the d link 601 router, and i'm having trouble setting my nat to open on my ps3. I've done port forwarding, upnp, and enabled dmz. speaking of dmz, shouldnt that work by itself? are there certain settings that can conflict with dmz?

I can't connect with a few of my friends, i get unbelievable amounts of lag, and it's a total ***** setting up new wireless devices. I tried setting my sisters labtop up for wireless, and now my ps3 won't get wireless connection. it says my WEP key is invalid, and it's not.

So as you can see, i have a few problems here, but my main question is, "why won't dmz work like it theoretically should? is there anything that can conflict with dmz i may have accidentally enabled?"

thanks. and please reply

Check out the gamefuel sticky over in the DGL-4500 forum. Might help. The web page might look a bit different however the data contained in the sticky works across all routers.

Huh, guess I have to "bridge" my modem/router, before those rules will work. It gives me an error message saying, "tcp ports conflict"

Ya, That is preferred if you have a modem that has a built in router.  ::)
