Title: Schedules
Post by: ninja1234 on March 08, 2011, 12:09:47 PM
Is there a way to put time restrictions on some of items (like kids' Itouches) but not effect our Roku box?  If so, how do I do it?  I see where to set and name schedules but don't know how to tie the schedules to specific devices.

Thanks.

Setup the Scheduling first. Then go into Advanced/Access Control:
This wizard will guide you through the following steps to add a new policy for Access Control.
Step 1 - Choose a unique name for your policy
Step 2 - Select a schedule
Step 3 - Select the machine to which this policy applies
Step 4 - Select filtering method
Step 5 - Select filters

Thanks.  Do you know if this filters using IP addresses or MAC addresses?

Specify a machine with its IP or MAC address, or select "Other Machines" for machines that do not have a policy.
Address Type :
IP  MAC  Other Machines

Should meantion, I would reserve the IP address for the device your trying to schedule. This will ensure that device always gets the same IP address. If you leave the IP address dynamic, the IP address on the device could change thus this will break the scheduling rule that you have set up.

also have to enable DNS Relay to make access controls work.
