My 1st gen iPhone and Mac Book Pro work great on the 4500. Ya I know it's not a iTouch. The wireless HW is about the same though. You need to find out what wireless modes the iTouch support. It will be fine on the 4500 using the G mode I presume. Does the iTouch support N yet?

I would set the 4500 WiFi mode to Single mode G at 2.4Ghz or Mixed G and N. If you don't have any devices that use A/B or N modes the router doesn't really need to broadcast those modes.  Once you add devices that support the other modes, then you can go back and turn those modes on.

Anyone else wanna chime in?

Thanks! These are the specs for wireless.

Only reason I need the wireless is for the wiifi. And the only device what will be connect wireless will be the ITouch. I currently have the DGL-4100 and has work great for several years. I like wired devices.

And again thanks for the info you and others are providing here on the forum.

I saw your email just now. LOL. Will help you out here.  ;)

If the iTouch supports N then I would put the routers WiFi to single N only @ 2.4Ghz if this is the only device that will connect at this time. Should you or the iTouch user see some connection issues, due to some interference, I might try Single mode G or Mixed G and N@2.4Ghz. Let us know how it goes. Sent you email.

I'm about to setup my  DGL-4500. Should I upgrade the FW or wait and see if it work right out of the box?

H/W Ver: A2    F/W Ver: 1.21NA

I'm only going to use the wireless for my sons Itouch 4G. Everything else I have will be connected to the wired gigabit ports.

suddenlink 20meg. I'm testing wired. Everything seems to run the same as when I was using the dgl-4100, but the test seem to be lower. I have the sb6120. So far everyting run great.

Then seems like its working then, if your getting 37Meg and your paying for 20Meg, I think this is a bonus huh?
I have the same modem. I love it and the 4500 together. I pay for 10Meg Down and 1 Up. '
